The level sensor, originally designed as a wave height sensor has proved its worth as a liquid level detector. The unit uses an infra-red laser beam to measure the distance to the surface. When mounted horizontally the unit will measure the distance to a surface. The unit provides a digital, serial output or a DC voltage output proportional to the distance measured. The maximum distance is 50 metres.
Blacknor has integrated various sensors to make a comprehensive meteorological monitoring system. The standard system monitors wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, temperature, wave height, and tide height. the data is sent as a single serial data stream which can be displayed on a PC.
From past projects Blacknor Technology Ltd. staff has gained experience in providing automatic test and instrumentation systems. A recent project comprised the hardware and software design and implementation for a transducer calibration systems. The system was used to gain UKAS accreditation in transducer calibration.
